Holiday craft swap

I love swapping my skills for the skills of others. I get so many nice things in exchange for the dishcloths I crochet up. This year I am making atleast 44 dishcloths to trade with some gals I know. This is what I know for sure I am receiving in exchange
  • a decupaged notebook that I will be giving to Jacy
  • a cute calendar, I think it is supposed to have spaces for pictures. If I am on top of things, this would make a nice gift for Jason to take to work with him.
  • a felted breakfast set for Promise
  • possibly an R1D2 crochet guy for Gabriel
  • a wall picture hangy thingy <--- technical term, for Israel
  • something smelly, I think soap
  • a pendant, I may keep this just for myself
  • a tee with a train on it for Zion....he just loves trains
  • some cotton gift bags with dinosaurs on them
I am hoping to be able to do some more, but we will see how burned out I get after crocheting 44 dishcloths. Thankfully I am just HDC-ing them. Easy, pretty and effective! To date, I have completed 12; just over 25% done in 4 days. Yay!

Speaking of swaps, I just finished on with a friend on rav. I sent her a batty dishcloth, pens, paper, and stick it notes. She sent me in return a really cute cabled dishcloth, a yummy candle, and super delish soap. Which I had to crochet up a saver sack out of wool post haste.

Taking recycling to a new level

So I see one of my kids happened to pull the tape out of the inside of a videotape and all I can think is that the tape would make an awesome yarn to make a bag or something out of.

After disasembling the tape I attempted to knit with it. Unfortunatley, it doesnt have enought stretch or slip to knit with. Then I tried to crochet it. This worked somewhat except the tape makes such a horrible squeaking sound on the metal hook. It is possible to crochet it, but i dont care for it and wont be using it anymore. Oh well, it was worth a try right.

Now I have creeped myself out thinking about what kinds of chemicals might be on the tape. Eeeks, off to wash my hands.

Happy Anniversary

Today is Jason's and my 7th wedding anniversary. We are going to the http://www.bellevueberryfarm.com/ tomorrow night. It should be lots of fun. We are going to go on everything and try lots of food (my personal favorite part). We both have the day off work today so we can spend the whole day with each other.

I really love autumn, it is my favorite time of year. Makes me glad we got married in October instead of July like originally intended.
I think the new yarn I just bought from Selah (www.hyenacart.com/selah) is a perfect represntation of fall and weddings :D Maybe I shoudl make something out of it to commemorate the day.

Merino Twist Custom

Almost done. They are turning out really cute. I love the way the leg almost looks like an argyle pattern. I have since photo finished the waistband in black and almost one of the leg trims.
Although the black is really hard to crochet with since it is so dark. Good thing it is single ply so I cant tangle up in the plys...lol.
I hope the mama (and little guy who will be wearing them) loves them ;-)

Sale and some custom info

I sold my Juicy Longies in MINUTES...waahoo, I was stalked!

I do owe some of my good fortune to the fact that the yarn was Selah...thanks Julie :D

I sure hope the mama loves her longies!

I am definately going to be stocking more custom and semi-custom slots; they sell easier IMO. Right now, I have 2 customs in the works, or getting started. Both were basically YYMH customs and I am being paid with yarn. So that is cool.

One of the the yarn I an being paid with is from Pandora's Box. She stocks on GypsyMarket with me
This is the yarn at the top of this post. Isnt it purdy :D, it is 100% wool, from a farm local to my client. The trim yarn is Cascade 220.
The other yarn I havnt received yet, but am kicking myself for not saving the picture of it. It is going to be gorgeous spicy fall colors. Perfect for my Thanksgiving stocking at WAHMOriginals on 10/24
